What does it take to renovate a 17th Century Farm House

What does it take to renovate a.17th Century Farm House? That’s going to be the question we answer over the next 5 months as we prepare to open up our final property to guests in time for Easter 2021…

First, the kitchen

First things first, creating an idyllic barn cottage means creating a simple cottage kitchen.

The current kitchen has a slightly odd layout, with a lot go wall units intruding in to the space, a window that opens up in to an under-stairs cupboard, and to my mind, a sink and oven in the wrong places.

So, we’ll keep a similar (slightly smaller) footprint, get rid of the window, switch the oven and sink around and open up the space for simple cooking and eating.

It’s still going to be a couple of months before we start, but at lest the plans are coming along!
